Senior Interior DesignER

The role of the Senior Design Lead position is to execute multiple projects with high-level design acumen, management skills, & proficiency. This person will work directly with the Principal Designer & Project Managers; they will be involved in decision-making and client interfacing. We are seeking a Senior Designer with at least 8+ years of high-end interiors experience and strong industry knowledge. Our firm is rapidly growing, and we are looking for a self-starter who is highly creative, impeccably organized, and can oversee projects from start to finish. This is a robust role that requires a variety of responsibilities. The Senior Designer drives 5+ projects with excellent execution. The ideal candidate will bring a sophisticated design eye, strong technical expertise, excellent project management capabilities, and the confidence to lead projects while collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and an internal design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects through the full design cycle, from initial concept development to installation and final review.

  • Collaborate closely with the Principal and design team to refine concepts, furniture and lighting plans, specifications, elevations, and presentation materials.

  • Produce and review detailed construction drawings, custom millwork packages, interior architectural details, and FF&E Packages.

  • Direct specification and scheduling of finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, and decorative elements

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on budgets, proposals, & invoices. Source materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet project requirements & budget constraints.

  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and internal coordination to ensure timely execution

  • Attend site meetings, communicate design intent clearly, and coordinate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other external partners.

  • Manage ongoing client communication with professionalism, clarity and responsiveness.

  • Oversee project installations to ensure design integrity, quality control and attention to detail.

  • Provide mentorship and design guidance to junior team members

  • Maintain documentation and quality control in alignment with studio standards


REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Minimum 8+ years of experience leading interior design projects across all phases, including construction administration.

  • Proven success managing high-end private residential and/or hospitality projects.

  • Strong conceptual and narrative design development skills.

  • Proficient in software standards: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop & Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Studio Designer

  • Clear understanding of drawing set standards, construction detailing, and interior finish specifications.

  • Clear understanding of custom furniture design & window treatments.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation and public speaking ability.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.

  • Reliable Car & willing to travel.

  • Self Motivated & Adaptable

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs


Candidates should be based in Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Massachusetts and be willing to travel regularly to our office in Warren, RI and/or the Fall River, MA area. This role is ideally in-office, with scheduled work-from-home days each week; however, we are open to flexibility for the right candidate. A relocation bonus may be considered for candidates interested in relocating to Rhode Island.

ASSISTANT INTERIOR DESIGNER I

The role of our Designer I position is to provide support on some projects while also managing one or two projects with senior staff oversight.  This person will work directly with the Designer II & Senior Designer. They will be involved in executing the vision of a project. This is a robust role that requires a variety of responsibilities.  Designer I supports Design II & Senior Designer positions whilst learning to delegate to supporting design interns.

We are a tight-knit team here at Moore House Design. We are looking for an experienced individual who loves to work and is excited to grow with us. We’re all about creating authentic spaces for our clients. In addition to our interior design services, we collect a curation of antique/vintage finds from across the country and design custom items for our clients and ROWEAM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop & coordinate design concepts, layouts & presentations, as well as functional requirements of a project from initial meeting through construction & installation with the Senior Team.

  • Fierce Sourcing and FF&E Skills

  • Maintained and organized project digital files, images, photos, and project samples.

  • support Designer II & Senior Designer positions in all areas of design & project management. 

  • Collaborate with and delegate to design interns.

  • Aid in the development scope, budgets, schedules and project timelines with help of Project manager

  • Design & Drafting; including space planning, furniture plans, RCP’s, interior elevations, electrical, millwork, plumbing, hardware, section drawings, construction plans, demo plans and all details to bring a project to life.

  • Must be able to build a furniture piece in 3D

  • Act as liaison between the design firm, vendors, and subcontractors including visits to project sites and vendor workrooms to oversee status & progress of fabrication and construction.

  • Preparation & upkeep of furniture plans & finish schedules.

  • Manage PO’s & Vendor Communication 

  • Assist in Roweam sourcing and photoshoots when needed. 

  • Must have the ability to keep track of hours and log accordingly.

  • Joint team effort in office upkeep, organization & cleaning 

  • Create install sheets for client projects and coordinate with PM for installation & timeline & load outs

  • Styling & staging & set up for Photoshoots.

  • Contribute to the overall culture and success of MHD.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ years working in an interior design role or architecture role with a degree in interior design/architecture.

  • Must have excellent Communication skills

  • Refined visual presentation skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Knowledge of material, hardware, and furniture sources, showrooms, and retail stores. 

  • Must be very detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent follow-through skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Auto Cad, Sketchup, In Design, and Photoshop

  • Reliable Car & willing to travel.

  • Self Motivated & Adaptable

Lead Project Manager

Moore House Design is Hiring! We are currently seeking a Lead Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our robust team. Please find all details on our Lead Project Manager position below. This is a Full-Time in-person position.

This person will work directly with the Principal Designer & Project Designers. They will be involved in all the aspects of making a project come to life! We are a team that comes first and foremost. We are looking for an experienced individual who loves to work and is excited to grow with us here at Moore House Design. We’re all about creating authentic spaces for our clients. In addition to our interior design services, we collect a curation of antiques/vintage finds and design custom items for our clients and our soon-to-be e-commerce site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Preparation of proposals and purchase orders using software
- Create and monitor project budgets
- Create and monitor project schedules and sourcing information
- Source and suggest furniture, fabric, etc. for Designer approval
- Place, process and manage all vendor orders through completion
- Procure estimates from trades and vendors
- Coordinate deliveries to project sites and warehouse storage facilities
- Create client presentations and digital design boards in Canva or InDesign
- Schedule and attend  all client meetings, including project site visits and design meetings
- Produce paint, lighting, hardware, plumbing and tile schedules for architects
- Review and redline all shop drawings to ensure design intent
- Create installation timelines; organize and oversee installations
- Represent firm at meetings with architects, contractors and vendors
- Manage issues with contractors, vendors and clients. Identify and document problems and troubleshoot solutions
- Compile weekly status reports and be prepared to discuss the status of all orders on all projects at bi-weekly staff meetings
- keep track of inventory within the inventory system
- Facilitate custom production needs
- Understanding of plans and construction drawings with ability to keep site documentation updated

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 3 years project management work experience at a construction, architecture or  interior design firm
- MUST have excellent Communication skills
- Must be very detail-oriented and extremely organized with very good follow-through skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of custom furniture design and window treatments is a plus
-Possess an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while exhibiting initiative in management of all intra-office priorities
- Proficient in Excel & Goggle Drive
- Must have some knowledge of SketchUp or willingness to learn.
- Existing vendor relationships and knowledge of a range of sources is a plus
- Reliable Car & willing to travel.
- Self Motivated & Adaptable
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must live in RI, CT, MA and willing to travel often to the office in Warren RI or/Fall River MA area.
